Thanks to the tireless efforts of our volunteer Rainer Schwarz and the active support of Monika and Wuama from Matira Bushcamp, the Fun Olympics took place for the 5th time in Tepeshua on 9 March 2025. This year Rainer was also supported by his grandson Paul in organising the event. Once again there was a lot of fun for everyone involved and at the grand finale there were only winners. As in previous years there was also a big feast for everyone. The happy children with their beaming eyes were once again the best reward for the organisation and execution.
The day before there was also another cinema afternoon, where the equipment sponsored by Kilele, including solar technology, was used. Here too the children, young and old, were excited and enthusiastic.
And finally a big thank you to Caro, who handmade pencil cases, fabric elephants and an oversized pen for the children in Tepeshua from original Kenyan fabrics.
This year, for the first time, a painting competition was organised for the children in Tepeshua. The aim was to draw animals from Africa. The picture above was chosen as the winning picture. It shows the 'Big Five'.
We are particularly touched by the second picture, which was painted by Simion, who is disabled. Without the support of Kilele and the loving welcome and support of Helen in Tepeshua, he would have no chance at all of an education and a dignified life in Kenya!
We at Kilele are proud that we can make the world a little bit better for the poorest of the poor with our projects! A big thank you to all our friends and sponsors, without whom this would not be possible.
Ashe Oleng!

The ground-breaking ceremony marked the start of our biggest project so far!
We are having local craftsmen build a dormitory for 120 girls at the Molibany School so that they can sleep there in a safe place in future. More information can be found here in the expose. We are confident that, with the support of our friends and sponsors, we will soon have covered the costs in full.
Many thanks to all our supporters!

Annual Review 2024
In our annual review, we have summarised everything that was achieved in Kenya with the support of Kilele e. V. in 2024. All of this is made possible by the fantastic support of our donors and sponsors. We would like to take this opportunity to say thank you and to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The annual Massai Fun Olympics, proudly sponsored by Kilele, has once again brought joy, excitement and community spirit to Tepeshua School. This much anticipated event, is a delightful break from the daily grind for all participants, and provides an opportunity for students, teachers, parents and sponsors to engage, celebrate and have fun in a relaxed and festive atmosphere!
The initiative not only promotes a sense of belonging and camaraderie within the school community, but also supports the school's ongoing commitment to supplement the teaching of curriculum content with dynamic and interactive extracurricular activities. This year's event was no exception and, for the 4th year in a row, featured a range of activities, games and performances that were thoroughly enjoyed by all participants.

New school building inaugurated!
Construction work on the new school building for Molibany Primary School began in August 2024 and today, 4 October 2024, the building, including school desks and tables, was officially opened. This means it will be ready for lessons in time for the start of school on Monday, 7 October 2024. At Kilele's request, the school desks were painted a different colour to make the classroom more colourful and cheerful.
All in all, it took less than two months from the ground-breaking ceremony to the inauguration. This is a tremendous achievement by all those involved and we would like to thank them for their hard work!
The school also received a colourful playground sponsored by Kilele, which was also completed for the inauguration. Now the young and old children can let off steam on the playground during the breaks. We at Kilele are proud and happy that, thanks to our numerous donors, we have once again been able to make a valuable contribution to the education of Kenyan children!

The new school building for Molibany Primary School in Talek was built and completed in record time. Now only the school desks and tables are missing. Thanks to the school bench sponsors, these have already been ordered and will be delivered soon. There will be an official inauguration at the beginning of October 2024 and then the first pupils can be taught here. Thanks to the many donors, Kilele was able to alleviate the acute need at this school and make a small contribution to better educational opportunities for the poorest of the poor in Kenya!
This not only helps the children in the long term, but also the country. Help for self-help that goes directly to where it is needed! Kilele e. V. ensures this in all its projects.
This would never be possible without our many donors and sponsors. We cannot say 'thank you very much' often enough!

New school building for Molibany Primary School in Talek
A building at Molibany Primary School in Talek has been dilapidated for some time and has therefore become unusable. In order to enable the school to continue teaching the children properly, Kilele e. V. is currently constructing a new school building. The construction work is progressing very well. The director of the school has taken a break from his holidays to monitor the progress on site. We very much hope that the building can be completed for the start of the new school year.
Sponsors wanted for school desks!
We are still looking for sponsors for the school desks to furnish the building. With a one-off donation of €150 and an annual fee of €20 for maintenance and repairs, the interior is also secured. If desired, all sponsored benches will receive an engraved plate with the names of the school bench sponsors. If you are interested, please send an e-mail to [email protected].
Many thanks to all donors and sponsors who help us to give children in Kenya a sound education and thus a chance of a good future. This helps the children and their country!

Milanoi on the way to high school!
The best current example: On the way to high school - it makes us very happy to see how a small, frightened orphan has developed. Thanks to the loving care, education and protection she received in our widows' and orphans' village, she was spared the fate of being traded for cows as a young girl and having no chance of a proper education. She has worked hard to achieve this. Thanks to the support of our organisation Kilele, she was able to attend school and has now qualified for higher education. We wish her all the best and every success!

Helen is awarded an honorary doctorate for her social commitment!
For her tireless and selfless commitment to girls, women and vulnerable children in Kenya, particularly in Tepeshua, Helen has now been officially awarded an honorary doctorate. Her full name is now Dr. Helen Nkuraiya. We are delighted for her and are happy that we had the opportunity to get to know her and that we have supported her commitment for a long time and will continue to do so!
Sincere Congratulations
Dr. Helen Nkuraiya!

We are very proud that our first sponsored child, Seley Nchoe, successfully graduated from high school this year. Since 2010, Seley has been sponsored by the Schultheiss family, who made it possible for her to graduate. The picture shows Seleya together with Hellen and Monika in 2011, when she received a letter from her sponsor family.
The young woman has now been accepted into the EFAG (Education for All Children) sponsorship program and can now complete her Bachelor's degree in Commerce at the US University in Nairobi. This university degree will enable her to take up a valuable job in Kenya in the future and thus advance herself and her home country. This is by no means common today, especially for girls in Kenya, let alone a matter of course! It is a wonderful example of how support for education can help those who would otherwise never have had this opportunity.
We are delighted for Seley and would like to take this opportunity to thank the Schultheiss family for the many years of continuous support!

Another 89 families supplied with essential food!
Thanks to the active and voluntary support of the Matira Bush Camp, Kilele e. V. was able to provide another 89 families in need in the Akamuriak region with urgently needed food. The supply situation is currently extremely tense, people have no income and prices have risen dramatically, especially in the disaster areas.
Kilele has therefore procured food from other regions and brought it directly to the families in need, without intermediaries or other charges. This ensured that the donations reached those in need on a 1:1 basis.
Our special thanks therefore go to our sponsors and supporters as well as the volunteers on the ground!

Flood disaster in Kenya
Emergency aid from Kilele has started!
As soon as it was possible again after the severe flood disaster in Kenya, Kilele e. V. immediately organized extensive emergency aid for those directly affected. In doing so, we specifically provided for those in need who would otherwise not have received any help or support!
Fortunately, Monika Braun from Kilele e. V. was on site and was able to work directly with the local team from Matira Bushcamp to ensure that the aid was organized and transported to those affected - quickly and unbureaucratically.
To date, a total of 96 families in the 'Olesere' and 'Olkuroto' regions close to Maasai Mara Gamereserves have been supplied with maize flour and cooking oil (see pictures above). Furthermore, the widows and orphans and the Masai in Tepeshua were also provided with food. In addition, warm blankets were distributed for the children there, as it has become very cold in Africa due to the prolonged humidity and the onset of the cold season (see pictures and video below).
In addition to our sponsors and supporters, we would especially like to thank the many volunteers on site, without whose active support this rapid assistance would never have been possible!

Terrible news and images are currently reaching us from Kenya. El Niño and the rainy season that began at the end of March have led to unprecedented flooding. The rivers have already burst their banks, huge swathes of land are flooded, roads are no longer passable, important bridges have collapsed and dams have broken. The village of Talek, where the clinic supported by Kilele e. V. is located, and the widows' and orphans' village in Tepeshua have also been affected. The water is already running through the village, the roofs and walls of the mud huts are being soaked by water, the children are freezing and it is becoming increasingly difficult to provide for the people. See also here: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c72plp66g5no
At the moment, the situation is still very unclear, but we at Kilele e. V. are taking care of help that reaches the people in need! Monika Braun is currently in Kenya and therefore has an insight into the situation and can ensure that our support goes exclusively to those in need. To alleviate the acute need, Kilele e. V. has already provided an initial amount for the widows' and orphans' village in Tepeshua.
Every donation will help to alleviate the need on site!

On January 23, 2024, Rainer Schwarz and Reiner Hirschberg presented the documentary about the solar project at Rückert Gymnasium Berlin. This was viewed with great interest and enthusiasm by over 500 pupils. It was a great experience for everyone to see how the funds from the 2023 sponsorship run were used.
This made most of them really aware of the simple means we think can be used in poor countries like Kenya to create a sustainable improvement in the quality of life of the people living there.
The solar project has also significantly improved the educational opportunities of the children living there. They can now read and do their homework even after sunset.
Rainer Schwarz also gave the school handmade beaded bracelets and an original Maasai shield with the colors of the national flags of Kenya and Germany. All these gifts were made especially for the Rückert Gymnasium by the inhabitants of Tepesuah.
We would like to thank all sponsors for their contribution! Our special thanks go to the student representative Niklas Kehrer and the school director Dr. Balke, without whose commitment we would not have been able to realize this project!

The first solar project in Tepeshua was a great success. Five volunteers from Germany, an electrician from Kenya, Thomas Huth, the founder of Village Power , and a Village Power technician from Uganda contributed to this. All the volunteers from Germany paid their own travel expenses and were happy to 'sacrifice' their free time. So no donations were used for this!
In total, the following systems were installed and put into operation in a few days:
- 7 small solar systems for light and for charging cell phones in the houses of the widows' and orphans' village
- 1 small solar system for light in the new public toilet outside the village (this was also sponsored by Kilele e. V.)
- 1 small solar system for light and mobile charging in the sewing room of the widows' and orphans' village
- 1 large solar system in the sewing room to power the sewing machines.
- 1 of 3 hand sewing machines was electrified with an electric motor
- 4 larger solar systems for lighting and mobile charging in the existing classrooms of the Tepeshua School
- 1 larger solar system in a classroom for charging a notebook and other PC components, also sponsored by Kilele e. V.
We are happy to leave it to Hellen Ntamejoi, the headmistress and good spirit of Tepeshua, to explain what a gain in quality of life this means for the women of the village and for the children of the school in Tepeshua - see video here below. We also received the following message from her:.
'The Mamas are enjoying very much in the village with lights at night.
Other families are coming to see the lights in the village.
It's very exciting.
Thank you all for making such a big difference in our life's.
Be blessed 🙏🏿'
We would like to echo this sentiment and would also like to pass on our thanks to our volunteers and all the donors who have helped to make all this possible with their donations.
Ashe Oleng!

The annual Maasai Fun Olympic Games in Tepeshua have become a tradition. The first Olympic Games of this kind were held in 2021. This time, all participating athletes enjoyed a sumptuous lunch before the games were officially opened by Rainer Schwarz (see videos).
Once again, the various disciplines such as the sack race, egg race, rings and ball throwing were great fun for young and old alike. A special highlight this year was the tug-of-war between the Maasai and the team of helpers from Germany, which was fair and ended in a draw.
The happy eyes of the children and their cheerfulness will remain in the memories of all those involved for a very long time!

After some more sponsors have added their support after the sponsorship run of the Rückert-Gymnasium in Berlin, there is a new record amount that was achieved this year:
17.044,70 €
We are completely overwhelmed and speechless! Therefore, we leave it here to the video of the check presentation on 20.09.2023 to express our sincere gratitude (see above)! The amount we had been told on that day was already unbelievable. But the final amount reached now again exceeds all our expectations.

First sanitary facility in Tepeshua completed!
With the financial support of Kilele e. V., the very first sanitary facility could now be built in the widows' and orphans' village in Tepeshua. Until now, the inhabitants and children of the village had to 'go into the bushes' in the truest sense of the word in order to relieve themselves. This is not only unpleasant but can also be very dangerous if there are wild animals around. With the completion of the toilet facility, the widows and orphants living in the village now have a safe and hygienic quiet place. For us it is standard that there is a flush toilet in every home, but in many other parts of the world mankind is still miles away from this! Therefore, even a community toilet is a significant step forward!
We and all the widows and orphans of the village thank our donors and supporters who make it possible for us to create a small piece of comfort and security for the poorest of the poor in Kenya.

Sponsorship Run 2023 - Update
"That's awesome!"
This year's sponsorship run of the Rückert-Gymnasium in Berlin was an absolute awesome event! Just to see the commitment and enthusiasm with which the runners gave everything to achieve a record result for Kilele e. V. was overwhelming. But the sensational result left us speechless. At least 11.500,- € have been raised! The final sum has not yet been determined, but this is already a super result.
We would also like to express our sincere thanks to Valerie Rügene, the representative of the Kenyan ambassador, who was personally present at both the start and the end of the sponsorship run and expressed her gratitude and the close relationship between Germany and Kenya with very touching words. Like us, Valerie was deeply impressed by the enthusiasm of the young people. Literally she told us afterwards the following:
"The smiles, joy and positivity of the kids gave me so much hope for the future, they are ALL amazing children and they really uplifted my spirits."
However, our very special thanks go to the students, the teaching staff, the parents' representatives and the school management of the Rückert Gymnasium, who together selected our projects in Tepeshua as donation recipients for this year's sponsorship run and who were so incredibly committed to it!

Sponsorship Run 2023
"Rückert runs for education"
Very proud and overjoyed we can announce that the Rückert-Gymnasium in Berlin will conduct its sponsorship run "Rückert runs for education" this year in favor of Kilele e. V. More information about the sponsorship run can be found here. All funds raised in this sponsorship run collected will benefit the widows and orphans village and the school in Tepeshua.
The official and very touching confirmation of the students of the Rückert-Gymnasium can be found here. The sponsored run will take place on 20/09/2023. Also the Kenyan ambassador in Germany and Poland, Tom Amolo, has announced his participation!
We thank from the bottom of our hearts and in the name of all children, widows and orphans of Tepeshua the Rückert-Gymnasium for this great support and also our fellow campaigner, Rainer Schwarz, who made this great support possible with his extraordinary commitment!
Ashe Oleng!

New high score at the
Donation Marathon 2023!
'Some people want it to happen.
Some wish it would happen.
Others make it happen!'
(Michael Jordan)
This year, Rainer Schwarz's donation marathon brought in the new high score of
7,723.00 €
Together with a generous donation from the USA, this will enable us to carry out the solar project for the widows' and orphans' village and the school in Tepeshua. The systems have already been ordered from Village Power in Uganda. With a volunteer team we will install them in November. We will keep you informed here.
At this point we would like to thank Rainer Schwarz very much for organizing the donation marathon and all donors who contributed to this great donation sum!

'There are many things that make you happy,
but the most beautiful thing is a child's laughter.'
Unknown author
Proud and overjoyed we can report that we have created a great playground for the children in Tepeshua. With the help of local craftsmen, a colourful paradise for children to romp and play was built. Now there is a seesaw, a merry-go-round and a multi-functional piece of equipment with climbing facilities, a swing and a slide. The beaming children's laughter shows us that we were able to make the children there a huge joy.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to the Schwandt family from Weil am Rhein, who made this project possible with a generous donation!

The 1st baby at Talek Medical Clinic!
Under the management of our cooperating physician Dr. Timothy Nkoyo, a birthing wing was recently set up in the Talek Medical Clinic in a room that was specially redesigned for this purpose. Everything necessary was provided by our partner Global Heartbeat: a birthing chair, two beds and a newborn warming bed. Kilele e. V. provided the solar system for the entire clinic building to ensure a reliable power supply for the medical equipment and the laboratory. Furthermore, Kilele has provided an initial supply of all necessary medicines. We are overjoyed that the first baby has now already seen the light of day in this birth center. As Dr. Timothy Nkoyo informed us, mother and baby are doing well. We are happy about the arrival of the new earthling! We will continue to do our part to ensure that many more babies can be born and medically cared for here in a healthy and protected environment.

TOP NEWS: Kilele saves life!
Great news reached us from the clinic in Talek: Thanks to an oxygen concentrator donated by our generous sponsor Global Heartbeat e. V., the life of a 2-year-old toddler could be saved. His blood oxygen saturation had already dropped below 50% due to shear pneumonia. This is acutely life-threatening and must be treated immediately! After 2 hours of treatment with the device, the oxygen saturation had fortunately reached 94% again.
A lot of other things have happened in the clinic as well. The laser therapy device is used intensively for the treatment of severe infectious diseases, especially malaria. The device and also the necessary medication were also provided free of charge by our generous sponsor Global Heartbeat e. V.. To ensure the necessary cooling of the heat-sensitive medicines, a refrigerator was purchased for the clinic from Kilele's donations, and a battery-backed PV system was purchased to ensure a permanent power supply.
Our special thanks today go to Global Heartbeat e. V., namely to Robert Weber, Nina Weber, Ela Rückschloß and Bene Jilg!
Ashe Oleng!

Visit of a dear sponsor in Kenya
In May this year Ruth Beutelberger visited the Masai Mara and also Tepeshua. She was in the Mara for the first time in 2022 and immediately fell in love with the area and the people. To our great joy she also became a sponsor of our Kilele association.
Together with Monika, our 2nd chairperson, Ruth was also in Tepeshua and visited the school and the widows and orphans village there. Not only did Ruth have a wonderful time there, she also handed over a direct donation right away and thus brought a lot of joy. We thank her from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to her next visit!
Thank you very much - Ashe Oleng!

Great progress in the medical field!
There are many news in the medical area!
Our chairwoman Petra Kscheschinski was again for 2 weeks in the Maasai Mara. Here we found a new partner clinic in Talek, which is managed by Dr. Timothy Nkoyo with a lot of commitment and personal engagement. Dr. Nkoyo was instructed by Petra Kscheschinski in the use of the laboratory equipment for diagnostics and in the treatment of infectious diseases with the laser. This sophisticated medical equipment was kindly provided by the companies Weber Medical Systems GmbH, W Medical Systems GmbH and Global Heartbeat e. V.. The devices were now in daily use to treat malaria patients.
Thanks to another very generous donation from our friends at Global Heartbeat, we were able to support Dr. Nkoyo with a refrigerator, a microscope, a birthing bed, and an associated warming bed for newborns.
We ourselves will still provide a centrifuge, a disinfection device for the instruments and a solar panel. The latter is necessary to ensure uninterrupted treatment with the equipment even if the electricity fails, which unfortunately happens there very often and then for several hours.
We are happy to move forward here with big steps, much joy and commitment!

2nd New Toilet Building in Moliban School Completed!
In November 2022 we could already visit the first new WC building in Moliban School, which was sponsored by Kilele e. V. Right next to it, we still saw the debris of the collapsed old WC house, see 1st picture. Since 4 toilets for more than 400 children and over 30 teachers are by far not enough, Kilele e. V. directly sponsored a 2nd new toilet building. We are happy that this one has already been completed and put into operation. Again a contribution from us, which directly benefits the needy. Many thanks to our donors and sponsors who make this possible!

3rd Masai Olympic Games in Tepesuah
We are looking forward to the 3rd Masai Olympics, which will take place in Tepesuah in November 2023. We are sure to see once again many happy winners who will proudly receive their medals and trophies. The preparations for these Olympic Games are already in full swing and the medals are already prepared. We will report here under 'News' as soon as the 3rd Masai Olympic Games in Tepesuah has taken place.

New Donation Record!
The year 2022 ends with another gratifying donation record for our aid projects in Kenya! The annual calendar 2023 with breathtaking animal photos of Rainer Schwarz from the Masai Mara developed this year to the bestseller, so that even a second printing order was necessary. The calendar, a multivision show and numerous donations from friends and acquaintances of Rainer Schwarz have brought this year the aid projects of Kilele e. V. the record sum of a further € 5,250, -. With this money, a lot of good can and will be done for the needy and disadvantaged in Kenya. We say at this point to all our friends and supporters:
Many Thanks!
Ashe Oleng!

Things are also moving forward at the Koyiaki Clinic!
This year, the companies Weber Medical Systems GmbH, W Medical Systems GmbH and Global Heartbeat e. V. sponsored a complete laboratory and a low level laser with which the Koyiaki Clinic in Talek was equipped. The laboratory analyzes the most important parameters for the early detection of infectious diseases. The laser is intended for the treatment of chronic diseases as well as acute infectious diseases, especially malaria. The installation of the medical equipment took place in the presence of the 4 founders of Global Heartbeat: Robert Weber, Martin Junggebacher, Daniela Rückschloss and Benedikt Jilk as well as Petra Kscheschinski from Kilele e. V..
Petra Kscheschinski will now be on site again at the end of December to check together with Dr. Jackson whether the facility is complete and everything is functioning properly. At the same time, the malaria treatment will be started in order to be able to offer a suitable treatment for this insidious disease.
We sincerely thank the sponsors for this generous donations and will continue to report on progress here!

Things are moving forward!
We had the opportunity to check on the progress of our aid projects in the Masai Mara from November 04 to 10. Here is a short summary of what we have seen, experienced and achieved so far:
Tepesuah - School
Rainer and Reiner held the 2nd Massai Olympic Games with the school children. It is indescribable with what joy and enthusiasm the little ones participated.
On the way there, we also got some fruit. For us hardly imaginable but true: For the children there it was the first time in their lives that they ate fresh fruit!
Kilele e. V.
For the financing of further projects, Rainer Schwarz was able to hand over a check with the donations collected this year in Germany to the Kilele Association 2nd Chairwoman Monika Braun in Tepeshua. This year the record sum of 11.111,11 € was collected. This can and will help a lot in the Masai Mara!
Koyiaki Clinic
There is also clearly visible progress at the Koyiaki Clinic in Talek, although there is still much to be done. Thanks to a donation in kind, we were able to present Dr. Jackson with a large bag full of medicines and bandages.
Now the procurement of a mobile ultrasound machine is a priority there, in order to be able to carry out an even better early diagnosis of the unborn children.
Moliban School
At Moliban School, the first toilet building has been completed and is already in use. But there are more than 400 children and over 30 teachers at this school, who currently have to make do with 3 toilets. We will do our best to build more toilets and showers. Both are urgently needed!
Olkuroto School
At Olkuroto School, construction of the toilet facility including showers is progressing. The facility should be ready by Christmas at the latest. We will favor this type of facility for future projects.
Masai Mara - Blinkis
In a settlement in the Masai Mara Game Reserve, Rainer Schwarz has installed more blinkis, which he manufactures himself in his company. These protect the residents and their cows from attacks by predators. These blinkis, which are powered entirely by solar energy, have already proven to be very effective in other places.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to all donors who, with every contribution - whether small or large - make it possible for us to provide direct and meaningful help to those in need on site!
So things are going well, but there is still a lot of good to be done!

Good news from the Masai Mara.
The time has come! The construction of the toilet facilities at Olkuroto School has started. The goal is to be able to commission the facilities during our visit in November.
11.08.2022
In the meantime, we are very active and making great progress in our project!
In cooperation with a foundation, we got the opportunity to train 8 children from the widows' and orphans' village who will soon be leaving school as nurses or teachers at Mount Kenya University
After being successfully educated in few years all will come back to their community to make their contribution to further development and further training. This is a giant step for us and corresponds to our holistic approach. We are overjoyed that after a long preparatory work the project will be up and running at the beginning of September.
Furthermore we have been able to build floors and sanitary facilities at 3 other schools, all in the immediate vicinity of Tepesuah.
At the beginning of September we travel to Kenya to install a laser device in the clinic so that Dr. Jackson can successfully treat acute infections there.
Ashe Oleng,
thank you - thank you - thank you

In November the children in Tepesuah once again had a lot of fun . Rainer Schwarz and his daughters visited the widows and orphans village and held a sports and games day which everyone enjoyed a lot. At the end of the day there were only winners with smiles on their faces.
